There are many different styles of building. you can get prefab frames and R-panel siding to steel 2×4-8’s trusses and floor joists these are used as wood. Many homes are now being built with mostly steel. Any wood design can use steel instead of wood.
Check with your local building code office .
Steel is used for studs trusses etc. You better have a big checkbook because it cost 2-3 times of conventional construction.

There is an all Aircraft Aluminum house designed in 1945-6 in the Ford Museum, Detroit, MI. Designed by Buckey, an engineer. Not very stylish but had interesting concepts. Was too expensive and did not make it in the market place.
